because my last two cars had also been red. But it wasn’t just that. It had only done 120,000kms, it was automatic and diesel, and I could stand up inside it — which was a non-negotiable for me. It wasn’t too long, and it wasn’t too high. A 2020 model, still with six months warranty at the time.
It felt just right.
I also read the reviews for the dealership, Dream Automotive Car Sales, and they were consistently positive. That mattered to me more than I expected.
So,
I booked a one-way ticket to Brisbane.
I flew in, took an Uber out to the yard,

and there it was waiting for me.
The van.
The guys were there waiting too, and from the moment I arrived I felt looked after and respected throughout the whole process.
I was happy with the price.
I was happy with the condition — it was clean, well-presented, and undamaged.
I negotiated a little on the price, and then I signed the papers and completed the purchase.

And just like that… it was mine.
I drove it home in a kind of disbelief.
I kept thinking...
I can’t believe I’ve actually done this.

I flew to Brisbane on a one-way ticket and drove home my little red engine.
Everything started to feel very real.
Every chapter is still unfolding. Thanks for being here and sharing the journey with me.
There’s still so much more to come.
