Why I Started Building a Van — Part 1

At one point in my life, I owned a beautiful home that I had built (with a builder), from the ground up. It had everything — four bedrooms, a theatre room, an activity room, a butler’s pantry, ducted air-conditioning, side access to a double shed… and it was walking distance to the beach.

I was very proud of, and loved that house.

But in 2021, life changed and the house was sold for a good price (at the time).

Unfortunately, between then and now, life took an unexpected turn. House prices have skyrocketed, and realistically, I now find myself priced out of the market.

Could I work full-time, flat out, for the rest of my life just to try and get back into it again?

Probably.

But one thing I know for sure is that I don’t want to spend all of my remaining God-given time working my guts out.

I want freedom.
I want adventure.
I want time to actually live my life.

So… a van it is.

This was once my dream home. I built it, lived in it, and loved it… and then life took a very different turn.

Every chapter is still unfolding. Thanks for being here and sharing the journey with me.

There’s still so much more to come.
